Mark Heim studied electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart and has been leading the company as its Managing Director since the beginning of 2004. Mark Heim is a member of the DIN Firefighting and Fire Protection Standards Committee (NA radio) and a member of the committee for CEN/TC 72/WG 19.

to MOBS

History

Since our company’s founding, we have always been dedicated to protecting people and property from fire damage of any kind. Today, we are members of the Economic Council and of FAMILIENUNTERNEHMER. (The association Die Familienunternehmer is the voice of family companies in Germany. They represent the interests of over 180,000 family companies in Germany.) We play a role in DIN standards for fire alarm technology, work with DKE for low-power radio systems, and participate in various research projects in collaboration with different high schools.

1973

Just three years after finishing his degree in aerospace engineering in Stuttgart, Carl Michael Heim sets up a one-man company that develops and manufactures electronic and high-precision mechanical devices.

1977

C. M. Heim converts the one-man company into a GmbH (limited liability company).

1981

An initiative by the Ostfriesische Landschaftliche Brandkasse insurance company in Aurich, Germany, leads to the AURICH II hay temperature probe. It measures the temperature in a haystack to detect a developing fire in a timely manner.

1989

The first MOBS mobile fire alarm system is developed as part of a joint venture with an insurance company. It monitors places with a temporary risk of fire, for example, after hot work such as welding, grinding, or tar insulation. It is used in industrial facilities, hospitals, and historic buildings.
